Beautiful layers of interweaving vocal melodies, funky rhythms, arpeggiated acoustic guitars, wild rocking electric guitars, haunting keyboards, intricate string arrangements, phattt bass lines, etc.

American Idol has a formula for making money. Just so happens they make music as well.
Pros
Daughtry's voice quality is haunting and iconic. It will stand the test of time.
Cons
Each song sounds too much the same as a result of a canned production process and formula writing.

I'll admit I wasn't a big Ben Folds fan when he first came to prominance with his "5". I found him a bit too affected and ironic. And he's still sometimes overly cute and "quirky" for his own good, but I've come around to find these qualities, among others (amazing musicianship, commanding stage presence), part of what makes him a unique talent.
Pros
This is not a collection of half-baked, poorly-recorded snippets found in the garage. It's the equivalent to Ben's other great albums. Highly recommended.
Cons
"Rent A Cop" goes on too long and...and that's about it. The rest is excellent.
Favorite Song
Get Your Hands Off My Woman. On an album with many covers, this souped-up, jazzed-out take on The Darkness hit is masterful. Check out the jam half way through.
